چکیده
Shape restrictions have played a central role in economics as both testable implications of theory and sufficient conditions for obtaining informative counterfactual predictions. In this paper, we provide general procedure inference under shape identified partially models defined by conditional moment restrictions. A Nonparametric Maximum Likelihood Estimation of Conditional Moment Restriction Models
This paper studies estimation of a conditional moment restriction model using the nonparametric maximum likelihood approach proposed by Gallant and Nychka (1987). Under some sufficient conditions, we show that the estimator of some finite dimensional parameters is asymptotically normally distributed and attains the semiparametric efficiency bound and that the estimator of the density function i...
متن کاملEmpirical Likelihood - Based Inference in Conditional Moment Restriction Models
This paper proposes an asymptotically efficient method for estimating models with conditional moment restrictions. Our estimator generalizes the maximum empirical likelihood estimator (MELE) of Qin and Lawless (1994). Using a kernel smoothing method, we efficiently incorporate the information implied by the conditional moment restrictions into our empirical likelihood-based procedure. This yiel...
متن کاملModel Selection Tests for Conditional Moment Restriction Models
We propose a Vuong (1989)-type model selection test for models defined by conditional moment restrictions. The moment restrictions can be standard equality restrictions that point identify the model parameters, or moment equality or inequality restrictions that partially identify the model parameters. The test uses a new average generalized empirical likelihood criterion function designed to in...
متن کاملEmpirical Likelihood Estimation of Conditional Moment Restriction Models with Unknown Functions
This paper proposes an empirical likelihood-based estimation method for conditional moment restriction models with unknown functions, which include several semiparametric models. Our estimator is called the sieve conditional empirical likelihood (SCEL) estimator, which is based on the methods of conditional empirical likelihood and sieves. We derive (i) the consistency and a convergence rate of...
متن کاملConditional Moment Models under Weak Identification
We consider models defined by a set of conditional moment restrictions where weak identification may arise. Weak identification is directly defined through the conditional moments that are allowed to flatten as the sample size increases. We propose a minimum distance estimator of the structural parameters that is robust to potential weak identification and that uses neither instrumental variabl...
